Though Barbra Streisand has been in the media for decades now, her family life is less in the spotlight. While fans may know that she has a son, they likely don't know much about him.

Like other famous ladies, Barbra made time for a family between all her high-profile acting gigs. Back in 1966, she welcomed a son named Jason with her then-husband Elliott Gould. And tabloids reported heavily on her decision to scale back her acting during Jason's infancy.

IMDb highlighted that tabloids termed Jason the 'million-dollar baby' because Barbra turned down a $1M contract in favor of caring for her baby. As he got older, though, Jason integrated into Streisand's professional life, too.

During his childhood, Jason was often photographed with his mom and spent time on set with her. But being that he grew up in the '70s, the media wasn't quite as ubiquitous as it is now. And there definitely weren't paparazzi on every corner back then, either!

So whatever happened to the adorable youngster who hung out on set with Barbra Streisand?

Jason Gould's career began quite the same as the rest of other famous kids'; he acted in a project that his mom directed. Although, he clearly didn't get paid the 'minimum wage' that other child stars did. But after a few films and plays during his childhood, Gould turned in another direction.

Gould directed a few projects of his own, including the short film 'Inside Out' in 1997, notes IMDb. But he was also in the media for another reason; his very public 'coming out.'

In the years since, though, what has Jason done, and what's his career now?

As his Instagram hints, though Jason has acted, directed, and produced over the years, he has another interest in common with his mom: music. The two have even dueted together, but Gould has also released a couple of albums on his own.

His last movie role might've been back in 2000, but Jason released two albums in that same decade; one in 2012 and one in 2017. Like other less conventional artists, though, he's also released songs and music videos on social media and music streaming sites.

For example, Gould recently shared a music video for the song "And So It Goes," which he notes was written by Billy Joel. Clearly, his mom's connections have become Jason's connections, and there are very few barriers to him continuing to churn out hits -- even if he's not quite as famous as other kids of big-name celebrities.

Then again, being close enough to Billy Joel to have him write a song for an album? That's pretty top-tier celebrity status.
