Big Brother season 23 is heating up pretty quickly. The jury has officially started, alliances are slowly turning on each other and the claws are coming out. Do not read past here, if you do not want spoilers.This week, Sarah Beth, the first female this season to win HOH, has a plan up her sleeve. She put up two pawns on the block in hopes that first, the power would be used and second that she could back-door her real target, Derek X. After she put up Derek F and Claire, Alyssa won the power, removed Derek F from the block and a roulette wheel picked Xavier as the replacement nominee.
However, he is a fan-favorite, as you can tell from America giving him the most BB Bucks two weeks in a row, and fans want him to stay.
But what do we really know about him?
6 Where Does Derek Live?
According to his Big Brother bio, Derek X is originally from Baltimore, Maryland, but currently lives in New York City, NY. Now, he is all the way in California fighting for his life in the Big Brother house. He went to school at the University of Baltimore, where he graduated with a Bachelor's Degree according to his Linkedin. Derek X earned a dual degree in Finance and Computer Science and had a 3.91 GPA.
5 What Does Derek X Do For A Living?
Derek Xiao used to be a software engineer intern but eventually pivoted careers and created his own start-up company called Remy, which is a meal prep service. As a child, his mom only cooked Chinese food, which made him learn how to cook for himself so he could eat whatever he wanted. Now, he loves cooking and trying new recipes, but doesn't like cleaning the dishes afterwards.

Everything comes prepped and ready to cook and a video recipe so you can recreate it. "I started a company that ships meal kits by food influencers across the U.S.," he told CBS.
4 What Kind Of Person He Is
Derek X has quickly become a fan-favorite this season. He seems very sweet and genuine but can make a big move when he needs to. According to him, he describes himself as "funny, logical and thoughtful." Baby D has proven to be all of that. He loves meeting new people and getting everyone laughing. The Big Brother house is the perfect place to meet a bunch of different types of people.
3 Derek X's Gameplay
His strategy for winning the game was to build relationships with everyone and turn friendships into alliances. He was sitting pretty in an eight-person alliance, Royal Flush, until he turned on them and put up members of his alliance, ultimately backdooring Christian. Derek X has made a lot of friendships in the house but has also put a target on himself by winning a lot of competitions early on in the game.
Baby D also has sort of a target on his back because he is close with houseguest Hannah Chaddha. They spend a lot of time together, and she admitted that she does have a crush on him.
2 His Homelife
According to his Instagram, Derek loves to travel and spend a lot of time with his family and friends. Before coming into the house, he spent a month in Hawaii, where he took up surfing and then played chess on the beach. The 24-year-old is a big family person and loves the people in his life very dearly. His family and friends are the one who he posts on social media, and when asked what the most difficult part about being in the Big Brother house will be he said, "Not being able to see my friends and family for the whole summer."

1 Could Derek X Have A Chance To Stay This Week?
After Alyssa's power use forced Xavier to sit on the block, he went on to play and win the Power of Veto, which he used on himself. Once Xavier used the Power of Veto on himself, Sarah Beth put up DX in his place. He is ultimately the backdoor plan, and that's who the HOH and most of the house wants out. However, Tiffany, a member of the Cookout alliance, has been trying to convince houseguests to flip their vote and evict Claire from the house. Some people are on board while others are not. Most just want to vote with the house. Kyland, who is friends with Sarah Beth thinks that, because he managed this HOH that the vote should go his way. Whoever gets voted out on Thursday night will become the second member of the jury and vote on who wins $750,000.
