Netflix's hit show Cobra Kai's Tanner Buchanan has appeared in several major TV shows and audiences are ready to see him play a leading character on the big screen. The 22-year-old is set to star in The Hyperions in which he will play Apollo, he is also set to star in Painted beauty — both movies are in post-production.

While tanner can now add superhero to his resume, he can also add teen heartthrob. He is currently filming He's All That which is a remake of the 1999 teen romantic drama, She's All That. To this very day, it remains one of the best rom-coms of all time. 

The 22-year-old Lima, Ohio native, started out as a tap dancer before he gave acting a chance. Tanner was so good at tap dancing, he actually placed second in a national tap competition.

He Started Out As A Tap Dancer

Tanner Buchanan has a hidden talent, he's a tap dancer. He started tap dancing when he was about five years old and attended Center Stage Academy. He later pivoted to acting after some agents and managers asked if he had ever tried acting. Tanner even placed second in a national tap-dancing competition, these days he's tapping rivals with his fist on Cobra Kai.

The 22-year-old's first acting role was on Modern Family, he has appeared in numerous movies and TV shows. Most notably, Grey's Anatomy, Fuller House, Designated Survivor and Sinister Seduction. He has also starred in both Disney and Nickelodeon TV shows. The actor has proved that he's got what it takes and Hollywood has taken note.

In an interview with Cryptic Rock, Tanner revealed, "I started tap dancing when I was about 5 years old. I tapped in a convention called IMTA when I was about 9, and there were agents and managers there who asked if I ever tried acting. I said, “No,” but I was a kid who always wanted to try new things."

His parent's supported his dream to become an actor and the rest is history.

"My mom wasn’t happy at her job and she said, “Maybe we can.” My dad said, “I can support you guys, why don’t you go out for 6 months and see if he likes it.” Six months turned into 10 years and we never left."

He Can Now Add Super Hero To His Resume

Tanner is a star on the rise—insanely talented and ridiculously good-looking. Cobra Kai has proven to be a good luck charm for the star. He has a couple of movies in the works, he will star alongside Addison Rae in He's All That. It's a remake of the 1999 teen rom-com, She's All That.

The actor is also set to star in The Hyperions, which is in post-production. Tanner will play a superhero. Per IMDb the premise of The Hyperions is, "In 1960, Professor Ruckus Mandulbaum invented the Titan badge - a device that enables humans to have a particular superpower. He took in three down-on-their-luck youths, creating an unusual family of superheroes and they quickly rose to fame and prestige..."

The Cobra Kai star has achieved a great deal of success and yet, he still has more to accomplish. He has the potential to become one of Hollywood's most sought-after stars.

Tanner told Wonderland Magazine, "I do have those moments where I look back and I’m like, ‘This really has been more than half my life now. It doesn’t seem like that. It seems like it’s gone so quick."

He also acknowledges how lucky he is to have supportive parents that helped him pursue his dream.

"It feels like just yesterday I came out here and started. So sometimes it’s a little surreal because I feel extremely lucky. Most people don’t get this chance, and I was lucky enough to have parents that supported me and my dreams"
