Ryan first began out as a hand model, before being approached to try out real estate. It didn't take Ryan too much time before he scored himself his first major sale, which came up to be nearly $9 million! Ryan Serhant and Emilia Bechrakis first met in New York City during a menorah lighting. Although they are two peas in a pod today, the duo almost didn't make it!
Emilia revealed that while Ryan was charming, good-looking, and luckily single, she assumed that this meant he was either gay, married, or lying about one of the two! “He’s hot, single, oh he must either be gay or married, taken, I dunno what it was – so I didn’t take him seriously,” Emilia said.
Despite being apprehensive at first, Ryan swept Emilia off her feet when the two began dating. Not only did they become quite the pairing, but Ryan found a way to propose to Emilia, unlike any way we've seen!
With the help of the New York City mayor and upward to 50 police officers, Ryan booked Times Square off to propose to Emilia. Talk about romantic!
The couple was married in 2016 in Corfu, Greece, which was in honor of Emilia, who is Greek-American. Ryan Serhant revealed that after hiring esteemed party planner, Kevin Lee, they dished out a total of $1 million for everything, which included flowers from Holland, fireworks, and decor galore!
Considering Ryan Serhant has gone on to amass a net worth of $30 million, it's certain that the $1 million for their wedding was chump change.
The duo now shares their daughter, baby Zena, which they welcomed back in 2019. Emilia had quite a stressful pregnancy, which she documented in her book that she released that same year.
While Emilia Bechrakis has a knack for writing, the 36-year-old worked many years as a maritime lawyer, however, she currently works in insurance.
Back in 2015, Emilia joined the Commonwealth Land Title Insurance Company as a senior sales rep. Luckily for Bechrakis, she worked her way up at the company and has since been promoted to Vice President of Business Development at Kensington Vanguard National Land Services.
In addition to her spot as VP, Emilia continues to use her law degree to provide pro bono services, proving that she too is a boss!
