Jamie Lynn Spears Got Pregnant At The Age Of 16

In December 2007 Jamie Lynn Spears announced that she was pregnant by her boyfriend Casey Aldridge. At the time, the young actress was 16 years old. Her boyfriend — whom she had been dating for two years — was 18 at the time. In March 2008, Jamie Lynn Spears announced her engagement to Casey Aldridge, and in May 2008 the two moved to Liberty, Mississippi where they planned to raise their child.

Jamie Lynn revealed that when her family and team learned of her pregnancy, everyone decided to hide it. "There was a whole lot of fighting going on between everyone involved. The entire Spears team was already caught up in my sister's PR difficulties, and everyone around me just wanted to make this 'issue' disappear," Jamie Lynn revealed in her memoir Things I Should Have Said. "My family and management pulled me out of school until they could figure out what to do next. They took my smartphone away, fearing the news would get out, and insisted that no one share any information with anyone, especially the press."

On June 19, 2008, Jamie Lynn Spears gave birth to their daughter Maddie Briann Aldridge. Unfortunately, in March 2009, Spears and Aldridge ended their engagement. In August 2010 they rekindled their romance only to break up again four months later. At the time, a source for People Magazine revealed: "She did a lot of growing up, but he didn't. This year, Jamie Lynn Spears published her book Things I Should Have Said, in which she also mentioned her ex Casey Aldridge. Aldridge's sister Ashley Aldridge Havard revealed that some things Jamie Lynn mentioned in her memoir aren't true. "He’s never, ever been called Casper. That’s not a nickname. As soon as we saw that, we were like 'Where did that come from?' Literally," she said. "But I personally think that it was a dig on Casey. Like, I think that she’s calling him Casper, she’s saying like, he’s a ghost to them. That’s just my theory. But just knowing Jamie Lynn, and how her mind is, I think that’s why she did that."

Aldridge's sister also revealed that Jamie and Casey's relationship was everything but perfect: "She physically abused Casey on several different occasions. She was very rageful. She would get angry any time she didn’t get her way. … She hit him with a lamp one time, she got mad at him at Britney’s condo in Destin, and she hit him with his belt several times. …I don’t think it was anything huge, just regular fights… it just turns dark very fast."
