Aaron Carter Got Tattoos On His Face A 'Defense Mechanism'

Throughout the years, it seemed like Aaron Carter was getting more and more ink on his body. In recent years, that would also include work on his face.

According to the late Carter alongside Just Jared, this was done for a deeper reason and as a defense mechanism, given his troubled childhood.

He explained, "I got tattoos to make me look tough because I was so scrawny as a defense mechanism. The medusa on my face means ‘Don’t look at me the wrong way or this b**** is going to turn you into stone.’ Stop click-baiting me.”

Carter would further reveal that he was the one to make the choices and that if he wanted, the tats can also be removed.

“My tattoos, they started off because I was such a little kid, a scrawny little kid. I started getting tattoos all over me to make me look like I’m tough so people wouldn’t mess with me. And they stopped.”

He added, “This is my body, my life, my choices.”

Carter would also get another face tattoo in 2022, one that was homage to his late sister.

Carter's most recent tattoo was an homage to his late sister, Leslie Carter. Posted to Instagram in late March, Aaron discussed the significance of his latest ink.

"Life is such a valuable learning lesson, IF you always it to be that. With that being said, this is my body and this tattoo by @tattoo_mike_13 is to commemorate the passing of my sister Leslie Barbara Carter.. she was an amazing my mother and was nothing more than someone I admired. I always wanted to make her proud," he wrote in the post.

Carter continued, "Your favorite color being blue you were a Gemini and you were fearless. And yes. This is a coverup but I will Laos not allow my face to be withone who clearly hasn’t show she loves me it’s good. My heart heals fast."

Leslie passed away in January of 2012. Carter would also admit that he was getting the funds at the time to provide help for his sister and rehab stint. However, it was too late.

Aaron Carter Revealed That Not All His Tattoos Were Permanent

Carter did reveal that he didn't take his tattoos too seriously, and in fact, he stated that ink could be removed or replaced, despite others thinking otherwise. One in particular, was in relation to his ex-fiancee, Melanie Martin.

He told Just Jared, "That says ‘mistake,’ that’s not Melanie. I’m getting blown up every single second right now while I’m on with you guys from her saying please give me another chance. blah blah blah.”

Carter continued about tattoos, “You know what, I’ve always talked about getting face tattoos and honestly I always get tattoos knowing the intention that I can get them removed if I want,” he continued. “They’re not permanent like everyone says."

Among those mourning his passing, includes his ex-fiancee Melanie Martin, who photographed completely broken outside of his home following the news of his death.
