Kaley Cuoco was a major part of the show's success, however, the actress didn't think so. Watching it back, Cuoco was inclined to hit the mute button during her scenes, let's find out why.

Kaley Cuoco Credited Jim Parsons For A Lot Of What Was Great On The Big Bang Theory

Without a doubt, Kaley Cuoco and Jim Parsons were the biggest stars on The Big Bang Theory. Heck, Jim Parsons was so impressive during his audition phase, that Chuck Lorre refused to believe he could've duplicated his portrayal consistently on the show...

Parsons admitted in the past interviews that his memorization process was not easy, and a lot of the time, he didn't understand himself what the words were written on the page.

Cuoco called his performance the standout part of the sitcom, "The stuff he did on that show was an out of body experience," she said.

Interestingly, Cuoco had a unique view of her Penny character, calling herself the only straight character, "That's what 'Big Bang' was to me — I was almost the straight person in a weird way," Cuoco said.

The chemistry and closeness of the two was represented on-screen. With that said, Cuoco struggled initially with Parsons' decision to exit the sitcom after 12 seasons.

"Jim said, ‘I don’t think I can continue on.' I was so shocked that I was literally like, ‘Continue on with what?’" Kaley told the outlet. "I didn’t even know what he was talking about. I looked at Chuck: ‘Wow. I thought we were — I’m so blown away right now.'"

The cast decided to leave as a group following Jim's decision. It was an emotional goodbye but who knows, maybe a reboot may present itself down the road.

Kaley Cuoco Watched Her Scenes On TBBT On Mute

All actors have different approaches when it comes to watching their old work back. Johnny Depp for example, would move on from a film following the shoot, not wanting to watch a single scene. The same goes for Adam Driver, who actually walked out of an interview when a radio host wanted to play a clip of his...

Now Cuoco wasn't that extreme, however, she was not pleased watching herself back. Cuoco did not like the sound of her voice, nor was she a fan of her outfit choices.

"I do stop and watch because I'm appalled by what I'm seeing. I'm like, 'Kaley, what is that choice?' I usually put it on mute because I cannot stand the sound of my voice, especially early on. But (I look to) kind of see what I was wearing, and it's hilarious."

Kaley might've been a little too harsh with her assessment, especially given that she was among the main reasons fans typically tuned in. However, when it came to her confidence, Cuoco was always skeptical, despite the fact that she was brilliant in whatever project she took on.

Kaley Cuoco Wasn't Sure About Her Future After The Show

"Maybe I'm just a sitcom girl forever." That was Kaley Cuoco's feeling after The Big Bang Theory came to an end. However, she could not have been more wrong, as the actress thrived in the drama space, getting nominated for an Emmy thanks to her work in The Flight Attendant.

Not only did Cuoco thrive in a completely different space, but she also served as an executive producer. "I had never made a show," Kaley said to People in August 2021. "I was like, 'I don't even know how people do this!' And I didn't realize, until this show, how many people are involved in getting this thing off the ground. I asked a lot of questions. You have to learn you're not the smartest person in the room. I was a little fish in a big sea! It was a really humbling experience, but it also gave me a sense of bravery."

Great to see the popular actress get rewarded for her underrated work.
