It’s easy to see why Beyoncé compared British singer Adele to god. The musical icon has achieved endless accolades during her impressive career, most recently adding Vegas residency to her resume.

Despite being one of the biggest stars on the planet, Adele is also one of the most private. Adele chooses to keep certain elements of her life private, resulting in a few mysteries that fans can’t quite work out.

While Adele is yet to confirm whether she really is engaged to partner Rich Paul, she did shed light on one part of her life that previously had fans a little confused.

It’s well-known that Adele vanishes after every album, taking a few years off and completely withdrawing from the spotlight. In an interview with Graham Norton, she explained the real reason why, and whether fans can expect her to disappear after promoting her album 30.

Adele’s Amazing Career Put Her In The Spotlight

At the age of 33, Adele has had the type of career that most musicians only dream about. The London-born singer shot to fame in 2008 with her debut album 19. Her next album, 21, became the best-selling album of the century with more than 31 million copies sold. It later became the first female record to spend an entire decade on the Billboard 200.

During her time in the spotlight, Adele has experienced endless career highlights. One of the biggest moments came in 2009 when Adele won her first Grammy and embarked on her first world tour, entitled An Evening With Adele.

Fast-forward to 2012 and Adele cleaned up at the Grammys again, this time winning all six of her nominations. Her following albums, 25 and 30, also achieved remarkable success commercially.

The Success Of ‘30’ Surprised Adele

Released in 2021, 30 became the first album of the year to cross one million sales in the United States. Considering that this was at a time when there was a record drop in music sales, this was another amazing achievement for Adele.

The success of the album also launched Adele to the position of the third highest-selling artist of 2021 around the world.

While doing promo for the album, Adele sat down with British talk show host Graham Norton who questioned her about her tendency to disappear after each album.

Adele Always Disappears After Albums

Fans have noticed that Adele tends to follow the same pattern when it comes to the albums she releases. After releasing an album and promoting it, possibly going on tour, she then withdraws from public life for a few years.

In a recent interview with Graham Norton, Adele confirmed that she will vanish again when she has finished all promotional and supportive work of her latest album 30.

Why Adele Disappears After Every Album

Much to the delight of her fans, who were starting to get rather curious, Adele confirmed the real reason why she disappears after every album: to recharge. The superstar revealed that she usually takes about three years to recover from the previous album and then rev herself up to do the next one.

She added that it takes a lot to work herself up to get back into the studio after she’s had time off. Between 2015’s 25 album and 2021’s 30, Adele took a six-year hiatus, where she had a chance to focus on other things besides her career.

Adele Would Also Like To Have More Children

In the same interview with Graham Norton, Adele revealed that she would like to have more children. She currently has one son, Angelo, whom she shares with ex Simon Konecki.

She explained that how much time she has off will come down to any future children she has, and admitted that she is only just catching up on the sleep that she lost when she had her first baby, nine years later.

It has been reported that Adele entered into a relationship with sports agent Rich Paul in 2021, but there’s no word on whether the couple has concrete plans to have children.

Adele Is Becoming Less Obsessed With Protecting her Privacy

While Adele with definitely disappear again with regard to her music, she admitted that fans may still catch glimpses of her as she is no longer so adamant about protecting her privacy.

“I’m trying to really make a conscious effort to stop being so anal with my privacy,” the singer explained. “I’m trying to not always be two completely different versions of myself because it’s exhausting, like, you know, switching on and switching off.”

The artist then told Norton that she goes out for dinner more now and is more comfortable being in public.

Despite being more relaxed with her privacy, the star did make it clear to the talk show host that she still guards her personal life carefully and will always protect her family from outside intrusions that come with being a global celebrity.
