Kristen Stewart may have gotten incredibly famous after starring as Bella Swan in Twilight, but she has always seemed like a celebrity who is reluctant to have that title. Stewart doesn't have an Instagram account and she has never been one to talk too much about her personal life.

Stewart has played interesting characters besides Bella in Twilight, and she has also become a bit more comfortable being interviewed. People often say that Kristen Stewart hates being famous, and as it turns out, there is a legitimate reason why. Let's take a look.

Scared Of Fame

Kristen Stewart is open about coming out and fans loved seeing her play Abby in the holiday movie Happiest Season.

Stewart also has been honest about something else: that being famous scared her. According to Cinemablend, she explained, "It kind of frightened me a lot, when I was younger, and a little more unsure… [Now] it’s great that I have this position where I can be totally open about communicating with people."

According to ABC News Go, Stewart explained that she would have physical symptoms because she felt like her fame was something that she wasn't in charge of. She said, "Control issues make me so nervous. It’s not knowing what’s going to happen. So what people were seeing was what happens when you are terrified. My palms sweat, my knees shake, I don’t think I can stand in my heels, I’m breathing heavily, I feel nauseous. I’ll be so nervous and then my body creates something to calm me down and I get so tired."

Stewart also called fame "pointless" and said that she doesn't understand why some people say that this is what they want.

This is an interesting perspective, as it's easy to assume that celebrities have it very easy and that it's great to be able to afford expensive things. There is more to the story, though, and for Stewart, it sounds like being in the public eye has always been a difficult experience.

Kristen Stewart has also talked about wanting to move on from Bella Swan. According to Elle, she was interviewed for Vanity Fair and explained, "I am in no way rebellious. I am in no way contrarian. I just want people to like me." She also said, "I was finally given a chance to be looked at, not as this thing in this celebrity-obsessed culture that was like, 'Oh, that's the girl from Twilight.'"

People said some negative things about Stewart: according to Complex, The Cut had a list of "most hated celebrities" in 2013 and put Anne Hathaway at number one and Stewart at number two. There have been articles about Stewart's "bad attitude" and people definitely noticed that she didn't seem to enjoy being interviewed.

But instead of taking her fame or success for granted, it seems like Kristen Stewart was just uncomfortable being in the spotlight.

She explained that while people thought she was "ashamed" of being Bella, it was a "challenging and great role, and I’m so in awe of the writing and the novels."
