With so many films under his belt and tons of awards and accolades to his credit, Brad Pitt is clearly a fan (and critic) favorite actor. Still, there's one acknowledgment of his talent that fans say Brad has never received: a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.

It's quite the honor, but it also seems very exclusive. So what gives -- and why doesn't Brad Pitt have a Walk of Fame star?

There's A Nomination Process

Though tons of celebrities -- not just actors and actresses -- have stars on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, they didn't get there by chance. So when fans started asking the Hollywood Walk of Fame themselves (via Facebook) why Brad doesn't have a star, the answer was simple: no one had nominated him.

Fans are probably wondering, though -- why the heck hasn't anyone nominated Brad? How is it possible that over the decades that the Walk of Fame has existed, no one ever thought of adding Brad Pitt?

As it turns out, the answer is pretty simple.

As the Hollywood Walk of Fame elaborates on their website, just about anyone can nominate a celeb.

The nomination paperwork just needs to include a bio of the nominee, a photo, their qualifications, and "contributions to the community and civic-oriented participation of the nominee."

Alright, all of that is no problem for someone like Brad Pitt. But there's a catch. Actually, a few 'catches.' And it's got nothing to do with Brad's resume or the fact that he's never played a superhero.

A Walk Of Fame Star Isn't Free

One of the problems with nominating a celeb to the Walk of Fame? There's a hefty fee attached. As the Walk of Fame's FAQ page elaborates, there's a $50,000 fee for the nomination ceremony. That might include the expenses related to the creation of the star itself, of course.

So despite literally anyone being able to submit a nomination, not everyone has $50K to throw at their favorite artist or actor's star. And there's yet another catch in the whole process.

Brad Pitt Might Not WANT A Star

Brad Pitt might not want a star. Big deal, fans might think -- he's so humble, let's just nominate him anyway. The hangup -- and the potential reason why Brad doesn't have a star yet, and may never -- is that he has to agree to the nomination.

Not only do nominations require a signed letter from the celebrity in question (or their management) agreeing to the nom, but they also must agree to appear for the award ceremony -- and many celebs have turned down the opportunity.

Odds are, Brad has no interest in the Star or the pomp and circumstance, either, and that's why no fan or group has been able to commemorate him on the Walk of Fame.
