Ellen DeGeneres has been one of the biggest names in Hollywood for the last two decades, and while she's reigned for quite some time, it appears as if that may all be coming to an end.

Rumors began swirling regarding the potential cancelation of The Ellen Show earlier this month, however, viewers have been suspecting this ever since Ellen and her show were under investigation due to a toxic work environment.

While Ellen may have apologized and returned to the show, it seems as if things just aren't at all like they once were, leaving many to wonder what the future of the show will be. In addition to the questions coming about, Ellen's massive salary is something that the network might have to cut back on after news broke regarding its ratings.

Ellen DeGeneres has always been able to put a smile on just about anyone's face! Following her time doing stand-up and appearing on an array of sitcoms over the course of her acting career, Ellen found herself as the face of her very own talk show.

In 2003, The Ellen Show was first introduced to viewers and instantly became an overnight success. The show, which has been going strong ever since, is now taking a major hit in ratings, leaving many to assume that the show is slowly but surely coming to an end.

While no one from The Ellen Show has commented on the recent report detailing a loss of over 1.1 million viewers, it's certainly not looking too hot! Considering the series has been on now for nearly 20 years, it wouldn't be a total shock for Ellen to bow out sooner than expected.

In October 2020, it was revealed that in addition to a loss in ratings, the show is also experiencing advertiser pull back and difficulty securing celebrity guests, which is only further adding to the idea that Ellen could be done for good!

This all came about following the show's investigation after reports surfaced of the work environment being heavily "toxic." The allegations against Ellen and countless of her executive producers touched on toxic rules, hostility, and abuse from the host and the higher-ups, leaving three producers to be fired!

Ellen remained in her position, considering it is her show after all, and fellow DJ tWitch was promoted to co-executive producer after he too claimed that there needed to be work done.

While the future of The Ellen Show remains unknown for now, it goes without saying going from 2.6 million viewers to 1.5 million is never a good sign, especially in such a short span of time! In addition to ratings, the show also lost 40% of their main demographic, proving that even their hardcore fanbase is slowly stepping away, too. Yikes!
