Several years ago, Giuliana Rancic was a successful E! News host who showed her family life on the reality series Giuliana And Bill. Fans were curious about how Giuliana was raising baby Duke... especially since the couple had wanted to be parents for a really long time. The couple seemed sweet and vulnerable and it was interesting watching them go back and forth between life in Chicago and Los Angeles.

As time went on, Giuliana's positive reputation began to fall apart. Giuliana and Maria Menounos fought and then, in 2015, Giuliana Rancic said some things at the Oscars that were terrible. Giuliana Rancic was then cancelled by Hollywood. Let's take a look.

Giuliana's Scandal With Zendaya Was A Nail In The Coffin Of Her Career

There have been countless celebrities who have been cancelled in recent years, with Johnny Depp weighing in on cancel culture.

In May 2021, Giuliana Rancic shared that she would no longer be a host on E! News. According to Deadline, she had been there for close to 20 years, and she got a deal with NBC to be a producer instead of being in front of the camera. Giuliana explained, “One of my passions is great storytelling and I am thrilled to announce a new development deal with E!’s parent company NBCUniversal where I will be producing and bringing stories to life."

This decision might not be a huge surprise to those who have been following Giuliana Rancic's 2015 scandal.

According to People, Giuliana was commenting on the Oscars red carpet for Fashion Police and said that Zendaya's hair smelled badly of “patchouli” and "weed." Of course, this was incredibly racist and offensive.

While she did apologize later, the damage was definitely done as there was absolutely no reason to say these words in the first place. Giuliana said on the air, “I want to say to Zendaya, and anyone else out there that I have hurt, that I am so, so sincerely sorry. This really has been a learning experience for me. I’ve learned a lot today, and this incident has taught me to be a lot more aware of cliches and stereotypes, how much damage they can do – and that I am responsible, as we all are, to not perpetuate them further.”

News was one that really came from wanting to be with family more, and focusing and spending as much time as possible with family,. And then also having that flexibility to give 100 percent to our restaurants and our other businesses — to be doing things that we're really passionate about. So it's nice though to be able to still kind of stay and do it all."

Giuliana Got herself Into More Trouble

Giuliana and Bill Rancic own several restaurants, which people learned while watching their reality show, and a customer had a terrible experience at the Washington, D.C. location. According to Radar Online, a woman wrote into The Washington Post and explained that she and her cousin weren't given a nice table.

The customer said, “My cousin and I were the first ones through the door (reservation for 11:30 AM). In a completely empty restaurant, they chose to seat us in a two-fer, those tiny tables for two. I noticed that the white woman who came right behind us was seated in a nice, comfortable booth. Later, a young man in a t-shirt came to join her. For the next hour, every party was seated in the booths or at a table for four, even the ones who came in twos. It wasn't until an hour later when a black woman came in by herself that another small table like ours was used. See the picture?"
