Let's be honest: the main attraction with Megan Fox these days is basically her attraction to Machine Gun Kelly.

They're totally adorable in every photo of them as a couple, and it seems like there's always something new coming out about their relationship. Whether it's their blood necklaces or their "soulmate" references or the fact that Brian Austin Green's new girlfriend even awkwardly name-drops Megan, the media is all about MGK and Fox.

But let's be honest; there's a lot more about Megan that's just as interesting as her love life. For one thing, the fact that she once got a tat of Marilyn Monroe but later regretted it is pretty fascinating.

Megan's got plenty of ink, so why does she regret the Marilyn tattoo, specifically? Well, years ago, Marie Claire quoted Fox as saying that she planned to remove the tat she had gotten of Marilyn's face.

The ink, which was on Megan's right forearm, was a very dark outline of Monroe's face. Marilyn was just one of nine tats that Megan had back in the day, but she specifically said in an interview that she wanted it gone.

The reason? Megan said that Marilyn "was a negative person" and also called her "disturbed" due to rumors of Monroe's mental health challenges. Further, the actress elaborated that she felt that having Marilyn's face tatted on her would "attract this kind of negative energy."

Despite that intense quote, which sounds like Megan was basically dragging Monroe down, other sources suggest Megan had some kinder words about her former idol. For example, Cheat Sheet quoted Fox as saying that she learned more about Marilyn's life and realized that her life was "incredibly difficult."

Since she'd previously envisioned herself as following in Marilyn's footsteps, Fox reasoned, she "didn't want to visualize something so negative." That sounds a lot nicer than saying Marilyn had issues.

Anyway, Fox also said that Marilyn had unfulfilled potential at the time, a lot like Lindsay Lohan. But rather than a dig at Lindsay, the statement seemed like she meant to reconcile the public image of each actress with what the realities of her life were.

As Fox said of Marilyn, "She had all the potential in the world, and it was squandered. I'm not interested in following in those footsteps." Fair enough, and it's true that Megan has the funds to pay for laser tat removal. And she apparently did so; after what was probably a long journey of laser therapy, Megan's arm looks completely 'clean.'

Though she shared some of the removal process in interviews, whoever did the tattoo removal did an excellent job, because nothing is left of Marilyn's face on Megan's arm any longer.
