Nathan Fillion celebrated his 52nd birthday on March 27. For most people his age, they are either married with kids or have at least been married at some point in the past.
Fillion is not your regular middle-aged man -- or celebrity, for that matter. As far as is publicly known, the Castle star is currently single, although that is not to say his love life has been boring.
Over the years, he has been known to be in relationships with many women, including some he worked with in various movies or TV shows. Some of these romantic involvements even went a step further into engagement.
Nonetheless, not a single one of his relationships have ended with Fillion walking down the aisle, as he always seems to come almost close enough before walking away altogether.

Fillion is currently single, and he does not seem to be rushing into a relationship any time soon.
Who Has Nathan Fillion Dated In The Past?
Nathan Fillion's most recent relationship was with Days of Our Lives star Krista Allen, who was also once involved with Hollywood hunk George Clooney. Fillion and Allen first got together back in 2015, after reportedly meeting through mutual friends.
At that point in her life, the actress had already been married twice, once to British rapper Mams Taylor and the other time to Justin Moritt, a unit production manager in movies like Hitch and I Am Legend.
Allen and Moritt had one child together, a son named Jacob Nolan Moritt in July 1997. Us Weekly reported the rumors of the California-born star being involved with Fillion, with a source close to the two reportedly claiming that he had, in fact, already met his new flame's son.
The two would eventually confirm their relationship publicly, often posting about each other on their social media pages. Their romantic fairytale lasted about five years before they eventually split up in 2020.
Fillion had also previously dated actresses Kate Luyben (True Blood, The 40-Year-Old Virgin) and Felicia Day, with whom he co-starred in Joss Whedon's Dr. Horrible Sing-Along Blog.

Nathan Fillion has come close to saying "I do" on three different occasions. The star of ABC's The Rookie first got down on one knee for Vanessa Marcil in 1996. Also an actor by trade, Marcil was best known for her role as Gina Kincaid on the popular Fox teen drama of the '90s, Beverley Hills, 90210.
Fillion had been seeing Marcil for about eight months when he proposed to her, although their engagement would end up being quite short-lived. Before the year was out, they had called it off -- and their whole relationship as well -- with the actress later claiming that drug abuse was one of the main reasons behind the decision.
Fillion's two other engagements were eerily close to each other in terms of when they happened. Between 2013 and 2014, he was affianced to Mikaela Hoover, known for Happy Endings and How I Met Your Mother.
That particular relationship reportedly fell into the rocks when Fillion met actress and scientist Christina Ochoa. The two are said to have hit it off pretty fast and got engaged within the same year.
What Does Nathan Fillion Think Of Marriage?
As was the case with his two previous engagements, Fillion's commitment to marriage with Christina Ochoa did not last long. After that, he seemed to change tack in his approach to relationships.
He took about one year before he started seeing Allen after that, and although he never proposed to her, that relationship at least lasted a good number of years.
Fillion has never been very outspoken about his personal relationships, or even about his views on love and marriage. Clues could be found, however, in the sentiments he has about the love story of Rick Castle, his character in his popular, eponymous crime drama series.
Castle was canceled by the ABC network in 2016, purportedly as a result of a falling out between Fillion and his co-star, Stana Katic. Detective Castle had eventually professed his love for Katic's character, Kate Beckett.
Fillion has a very sentimental dream for Rick and Kate. "I would love to see Castle getting married on the shores of Maui in this little neighborhood I like to go personally for vacations," he once said.
Whether he is willing to go all the way himself remains yet to be seen. Fillion is reportedly single at the moment, and seeing as he does not have any romantic interests at the moment, the married life may be a long way away for the actor.
