Social media is still unpacking all the juicy revelations uncovered in Wendy Williams: The Movie and the Wendy Williams: What a Mess! documentary.

Ciera Payton has been widely praised for her portrayal as the former radio icon. But did you know that in 2011 another Wendy Williams movie was made? The 56-year-old has spoken previously about having the original tape under lock and key in her office.

Queen Of Media was based on the talk show host's New York Times best selling book Wendy's Got The Heat. It was produced by her and her ex husband Kevin Hunter.

A synopsis for the film reads: "Queen Of Media is an honest telling of the life story of Wendy Williams as she struggles against bad choices, hard luck and always being an outsider; a born rebel who is constantly at odds with anyone who wants to tone her down, reel her in or lead her on, be they bosses, boyfriends or family. Ultimately Queen Of Media is an inspirational tale of how self-realization and redemption helped her overcome her inner-demons, and how her determination to “keep it real” eventually brought her happiness and success."

The film starred actress Robin Givens in the titular role and media mogul Oliver "Power" Grant as her husband Kevin Hunter.

The low-budget movie was co-produced by Williams and Hunter and also starred Fredro Starr, Trey Songz and Lil Kim.

In an interview with Robin Givens on her talk show in 2018, Williams revealed that when she booked her TV show, she felt it was best to leave the film on the shelf and tell it at another time.

Earlier this month, the LA Times asked Wendy about the Givens project.

"Everything prior to divorcing Kelvin (her ex-husband's name by birth) was a Kelvin thing. That project, I don’t know what happened to it. You’ll have to call him," she told the outlet.

In hindsight it may have been better the original film was not released, as her marriage breakdown was one of the key talking points of the Lifetime movie.
