Willow Smith has been criticized after sharing a clip of herself singing an Alicia Keys song. The 20-year-old "I Am Me" star sang Keys first hit record, "Fallin'" on Instagram.

Popular black gossip page The Shade Room also posted the video.

They captioned the clip: "PressPlay: #WillowSmith better go on and show off those vocals!!"

Despite singing a beautiful rendition of the hit song, the clip was met with a wave of negativity in The Shade Room comments.

"Yodalay yodalay heeee hoooooo," one person wrote.

"Maybe try a different genre baby," a second added.

"She could’ve kept that in her phone," a third chimed in.

"We still have people in Texas without water it’s absolutely not the time for this foolishness," a fourth comment read online.

Last year Willow opened up about "not fitting into" the Black community on Red Table Talk with her mother and grandmother. During the chat, the I Am Legend actress admitted she and her brother, Jaden, were "shunned" because their personal styles did not fit into the stereotype of Black culture.
"Specifically with the African American community, I felt like me and Jaden were shunned a little bit. Like, 'We're not going to take pride in them because they're too different, they're too weird,'" Willow said.
"Even some of our family members, I would feel they thought we're too different."
Her mom Jada Pinkett Smith added she always had to remind herself that she was raising her children under special circumstances.
"The thing that I had to consider was that they weren't raised typically and I think for, especially our community, it was something new," Jada added.
"Did people shame me, through you?" Jada asked Willow. Related: Who Are Will Smith’s Siblings, And Is He Close To Them?
"100 percent. Oh my god. I would be at places or events and people would say things," Willow said.
Jada went on to explain that she was shamed more for what Jaden did. The Pursuit of Happyness actor famously wore a skirt and carried his dreadlocks as an accessory to the Met Gala.
"I got shamed a lot for Willow, but [with] Jaden that was hardcore," she added. Related: Jada Pinkett Smith Wants Fans To Watch Racial Injustice Short 'Cops And Robbers'
"I think as Jaden got older and he was wearing a skirt, you know? And then he isn’t what people consider your typical Black man, which is like what is that supposed to be?" Jada explained.
The mother and daughter team went on to say that stereotypes exist within the Black community and the Smith children didn't fitting into the box. Next: Jada Pinkett Smith Celebrates Black History Month With A Strange Foot Routine
