When Pamela Anderson first took the entertainment industry by storm, she quickly became one of the most talked-about celebrities in the world. With millions of people completely enamored by the way Anderson looked in the trademark red Baywatch bathing suit, Anderson was making a fortune at the height of her career. However, since Hollywood largely lost interest in casting Anderson, she has proven to be a survivor by remaining in the spotlight to a certain degree. Tragically, that makes sense since it turns out that Anderson survived being put through much more tragic events when she was young.
Pamela Anderson Was Habitually Abused

As parents, there is one thing that people care about above all else, keeping their children safe. However, that doesn’t mean that parents can be by their children’s side every moment of the day and even if they could, it would be unhealthy if they did that. As a result, most parents have at least one person that they trust to babysit their child when they can’t be with them for one reason or another.
As Anderson has said in the past, she had “loving parents” who entrusted her to a babysitter when they had to be away. Fortunately, the vast majority of babysitters do everything they can to protect the children who are in their care. However, Pamela Anderson has revealed she was habitually abused by her female babysitter.
Considering that there is almost nothing in life that is more deplorable than abusing a child, Pamela Anderson revealing that she was habitually touched clearly is the worst part of the story. However, it turns out that another thing that happened with Anderson’s abusive babysitter traumatized her in a major way.
After months of being abused by her babysitter, Pamela Anderson was struggling just like any kid in her position would. As a result, Anderson wished that her babysitter would die so she could be left alone. As she has revealed during very powerful interviews, Anderson wound up thinking she was a killer based on what happened next.
“I remember wishing her dead and she ended up dying the next day in her graduation in a car accident. I thought, ‘Ok, now I’ve killed her. I’m magic. I can’t tell my parents about this and I’ve killed her,’ so I started believing that I had this special power to kill people. I was scared to tell [my parents] that this happened and I was also scared to tell them that I killed her.”
Pamela Anderson Was Assaulted
Given how popular Pamela Anderson was at the height of her career, she will almost certainly be best remembered as an actor when she passes away. However, in recent years, Pamela seems more interested in what she can do away from the cameras even though that has made Anderson controversial at times.
Since Pamela Anderson is much more concerned about how she can impact the world than acting these days, she decided to form her own charity. According to its website, “The Pamela Anderson Foundation supports organizations and individuals that stand on the front lines in the protection of human, animal, and environmental rights.”
When The Pamela Anderson Foundation was launched in 2014, the titular star spoke at a luncheon celebrating its formation. During her speech, Anderson revealed that on top of her horrific interaction with her babysitter, she was the victim of sexual abuse at other times in her life. She even stated that her first boyfriend and his friends took her without her permission all at once. On top of this, a 25-year-old man did the same to her when she was just 12.
Needless to say, being repeatedly sexually assaulted throughout her childhood had a profound and tragic effect on Pamela Anderson. As Anderson stated during her aforementioned luncheon speech, she “had a hard time trusting humans” as a result of what happened to her. Not being able to trust people is bad enough, but Anderson then went on to say that in the past she “just wanted off this Earth” which is a heartbreaking statement.
Given everything that Pamela Anderson went through when she was young, it is all the more tragic to remember what happened to her when she was an adult. After all, nobody should have a private recording of them in the most intimate of situations stolen from them, much less released to the public and watched by millions. Nobody should have to go through even one of the awful things that Anderson had to, let alone all of them.
