The 'Ellen Show' had some great moments, it would lead to huge stardom for Ellen DeGeneres and the show itself became a smash day-time hit. However, behind the scenes and at times, even in front of the camera, things weren't as smooth.

Ellen mistreated several show employees backstage, heck she would refuse to make eye contact with interns... Making matters worse, we saw so many uncomfortable moments unfold on-screen. We can make a list in itself describing some of the most awkward interviews.

Dakota Johnson might be at the top of the list, as she flat out said Ellen doesn't like her, to her face. She even had the proof, mentioning that Ellen no-showed one of her parties... yikes.

In addition, one Taylor Swift interview got so bad that she was reduced to tears. Ellen kept peppering Taylor about her personal life and past romances. Swift was clearly uncomfortable, but yet Ellen continued on. The TV host literally gave Swift a bell to ring every time she saw a guy that she sang about, while pictures showed up on-screen...

It might've been Ellen's way to get some revenge as prior to the interview, Ellen had both Zac Efron and Taylor Swift together. During the interview, Zac and Taylor decided to sing a song, which basically dissed Ellen for her interview skills. Fans are sure that the two were trying to expose Ellen on her own show years before allegations would surface.

We'll revisit what exactly went down and why Ellen is deciding to take the show off the air after many years.

Changing Paths

Ellen finally decided to change paths, putting an end to the 'Ellen Show'. Of course, fans were quick to point out that the allegations had a lot to do with it. However, Ellen stated that the biggest reason to end the show was to try something different, as it wasn't challenging enough, "When you’re a creative person, you constantly need to be challenged — and as great as this show is, and as fun as it is, it’s just not a challenge anymore.”

Ellen was pushed to keep going but according to her interview with 'The Hollywood Reporter', she had already contemplated ending the show years prior, "I was going to stop after season 16. That was going to be my last season, and they wanted to sign for four more years and I said I’d sign maybe for one. They were saying there was no way to sign for one. “We can’t do that with the affiliates and the stations need more of a commitment.” So, we [settled] on three more years, and I knew that would be my last. That’s been the plan all along. And everybody kept saying, even when I signed, “You know, that’s going to be 19, don’t you want to just go to 20? It’s a good number.” So is 19."

Ellen would also make mention that her departure has nothing to do with the allegations, "It almost impacted the show. It was very hurtful to me. I mean, very. But if I was quitting the show because of that, I wouldn’t have come back this season. I wasn’t working, so I had no platform, and I didn’t want to address it on [Twitter] and I thought. “If I just don’t address it, it’s going to go away,” because it was all so stupid."

Well, long before she contemplated canceling the show, this moment took place. Looking back, fans believe Efron and Swift were hinting at Ellen's ways.

Exposing Ellen

Ah yes, who would've thought that two stars would expose Ellen through a song... on her own show. Well, fans believe that's exactly what went down, as the lyrics are at least somewhat relatable.

"Ellen works weird interviews in a slick cool sweater. And it gets kind of weird."

"Every time I come on this show, its really weird, really weird... all because of Ellen"

"She always asks me who I'm dating every time on the show and I don't really know why but it get 5 million hits on YouTube."

The comment section of the clip couldn't help but associate the interview with Ellen being exposed long before anyone else had.

"Taylor and Zac were really exposing Ellen years ago with this song."

"Zac and Taylor exposing ellen in a song. ellen sitting there like 😃."

"Love seeing Taylor being snarky. Seemed like she genuinely had fun calling out Ellen. Taylor has class."

Who really knows what went down but it is clear, the viral video has not aged all that well for Ellen.
