Zack Snyder's Justice League has already become one of the most anticipated DC movies of all time!

After Jared Leto took his method acting in The Suicide Squad a little too far, Zack Snyder knew he had to transform the character for his version of Justice League.

Fans Have Hope For The New Joker

The first look has instilled hope in the hearts of DC fans, who had been waiting to see Jared Leto take the character seriously.

Years after Leto's portrayal was met with backlash, Joaquin Phoenix moved DC fans with his unforgettable performance of the Joker and became the second actor in history to win an Academy Award for playing the character. That's added pressure for Jared Leto, now that he's joined the cast of Zack Snyder's Justice League!

Fans seem to be on Leto's side this time, and have taken on the task to ensure the actor is in good spirits by sending him love!

"I never had a problem with the look [Joker's] since I saw the theatrical cut of suicide squad, I just wanted more," wrote @darincc87. They added: "The pics from today has me even more hyped."

Sans tattoos and piercings, the director seems to have maintained a serious tone for Joker. Fans have appreciated the character's longer hair and ominous looking face-paint as opposed to The Suicide Squad version, where Joker sported a polished, emerald undercut hairstyle, more tattoos than one can count and an incredibly misguided costume.

"Crazy how it's been 13 years since Batman and Joker have shared a meaningful scene together on film. Now fans will finally get Ben Affleck and Jared Leto," shared @SherazFarooqi_

Joker and Batman will meet face to face in a "dream sequence", as revealed by Vanity Fair. The announcement also noted that Joker will be seen wearing a bullet-proof vest adorned with the badges of law enforcement agents he has taken down. Snyder referred to them as the super villain's "trophies".

Zack Snyder’s Justice League will release on March 18, on HBO Max.
